Types of Window Tint If you are a perfectionist with a steady hand, whole tint sheets are the only way to ensure a truly custom job - custom to your vehicle because you did the cutting based on the measurements made on your own vehicle. This is a difficult trade-off, as the tools, skill and patience required to complete the job from whole sheets aren't always accessible to the average DIY-er. The best window tint films reflect up to 85% of heat and ultraviolet radiation, so it's not worth settling for anything less than 50% reflection. Anything less is barely better than the performance of your factory glass. Adhesive Properties We have a database containing the exact measurements of the windows for 1000's of makes and model of car around the world.

Window tint films are classified by the amount of light they allow in, by percentage. A 5% tint is much darker - and almost universally illegal on passenger vehicles - than a 50% tint. Factory tints on rear windows tend to be in the 50-70% range, so buying something on the lighter side might not actually accomplish what you are going for. Carbon window film is the most expensive option on the market right now, and it is best installed by a professional shop. Carbon Film Your pre cut windows are kept on the roll of tint they are cut from to prevent any damage in transit. All you need to do is peel them away when you are ready to apply them. Although a tint film roll is harder to install, it’s much cheaper and easier to control to suit your window. Some pre-cut window tints can also be poor quality and not match your specific car model.Once removed, you may be greeted with some glue residue that can be difficult to remove. If it’s being stubborn, try to use a high quality glass cleaner upon it with plenty of scrubbing. You can also use a razor blade to peel it away too.
